Richard Fields is in the Entertainment, Leisure and Hospitality industry as a Casino and Resort Developer. Richard Fields' primary business is Chairman of Coastal Development, LLC, a Casino and Resort Development company that co-developed the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa and Hollywood, Florida. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casinos have met with great success.
In addition to the Casino and Resort Development Business, Richard Fields is also a philanthropist through the Fields Family Foundation and a lover of horses and popular horse competitions such as thoroughbred horseracing and western cutting competitions. Although born, bred, and educated in New York City, Richard Fields has always loved the leisure hobbies of cowboys and owns a ranch called Jackson Land and Cattle in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In 2007, Richard Fields became the largest shareholder of Suffolk Downs, a thoroughbred racetrack in Massachusetts, where he has revived the historically famous Massachusetts Handicap.
